Downtown Novato and Surrounding Areas
Downtown Novato contains a mix single-family homes, townhomes and apartment buildings. The single-family homes are on the small, yet charming, side and many were built in the 1940s. The latest addition to the downtown area, however, is a brand new development of 125 condos located in The Millworks, a new building with a Whole Foods market at street level.
Living in downtown Novato or in the immediately surrounding areas offers homeowners convenient access to the city's vibrant and revitalized downtown, with cute shops and restaurants. There is also easy access to the freeway and public transportation.
Adjacent to the downtown are residential neighborhoods. The neighborhoods around Seventh Street and Carmel Drive (to the north) and Reichert and Lamont Avenues (to the south) have predominantly single-family homes, with some multi-family homes and commercial areas at their periphery.
