Pointe Marin in Novato

In recent years, Novato has had more new home construction than any other city in Marin. About 250 of these new homes are located in a development called Pointe Marin, in southern Novato's Ignacio area. Formerly the site of surplus military housing for Hamilton Air Base (decommissioned in 1974), this area along Ignacio Blvd. is now one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Novato. Pointe Marin is characterized by attractive, large homes situated on wide streets with mature trees.

The neighborhood's southern Novato location and close proximity to Highway 101 make it an excellent choice for people who commute south. Also, the amount of home you get for the money, compared with southern and central Marin where prices are much higher, makes this area attractive to many buyers.

Single-family homes range from about 1,800 square feet to more than 4,400 square feet, with prices between about $700,000 and $1,100,000. Pointe Marin also has condominiums for people age 55 and over, along Entrada Drive. Nestled adjacent to these newer homes is a neighborhood of nice townhomes in the $500,000-600,000 range (Marin Glen).
