Renaissance is a luxury residential community of 53 homes in the oak-studded hills above the Stone Tree Golf Club, off Highway 37 in eastern Novato at the Atherton/Black Point exit. This community of large, single-family homes was developed between 2002 and 2006 by Davidon Homes.
The high-end subdivision and golf course were built on essentially undeveloped land in the Black Point area, used for years by the Bay Area's Renaissance Faire (hence the development's name). Now, thanks to wildland preservation efforts, residents enjoy views of the Black Point Nature Preserve, a neighboring 64-acre parcel of dedicated open space, which teems with wildlife and offers a beautiful landscape.
The Stone Tree Golf Club has a premier 18-hole golf course - recognized as one of the best in the Bay Area. There is also a grand clubhouse (pictured above), with architecture reminiscent of a mountain lodge.
Renaissance homes sit on generous lots of at least a half acre. They range from about 3,500 to more than 5,300 square feet and start in the low $1,000,000s.
These hillside homes enjoy sweeping views of open space, Mount Tam, Mount Diablo and beyond.
