San Marin in Novato

Located in Northwest Novato at the foot of Mt. Burdell, the San Marin community is a popular place to call home - and for good reason! The landscape is beautiful, with oak trees and rolling hills.  San Marin borders Mt. Burdell Open Space Preserve, which has miles of hiking trails. The residents make an effort to build relationships with one another and create a true sense of community through annual social events such as The Neighborhood Social, Easter Egg Hunt and Picnic, Halloween Parade and Santa by Sleigh.

There is a wide mix of homes in San Marin, from townhomes to new, semi-custom luxury homes. We've devoted pages to two popular subdivisions, Partridge Knolls and Novato Chase. The majority of San Marin homes are Ranch-style homes built in the 1960s. Home prices start in the $500,000s for a single-story Rancher; $800,000s for a newer 2-story home.

San Marin has its own shopping center, within walking distance to many homes. The shopping center is anchored by Harvest Market, which carries many organic items. Other stores and restaurants include Starbucks, Mary's Pizza Shack and Tuesday Morning.  Marin's largest employer, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, is also located in San Marin, close to Highway 101. The private Meridian Rolling Hills Athletic Club is also in San Marin, and is a draw for all Novato residents.
